The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examinations (JAMB) has said it will no longer consider the A’level results by the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) for candidates seeking to gain direct entry admissions to tertiary institutions.
Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of JAMB, disclosed this during the 2022 policy meeting.
He said, “The Honorable Minister of education has approved that the NABTEB A’level GCE will no longer be recognized as a qualification for DE from 2022.
“However, all those who have already obtained it prior to this date will be able to use it.”
Meanwhile, JAMB had earlier approved 140 and above as the national minimum cut-off mark for admission into public universities in 2022.
It also approved 120 cut-off marks for polytechnics in Nigeria.
