PART A
1.0 POST UTME SCREENING AND VALIDATION OF CREDENTIALS EXERCISE
Application for screening and validation of credentials is hereby requested from interested candidates who wrote the 2022/2023 UTME and made The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro their 1st Choice or are willing to change to Ilaro as their 1st Choice Institution.
1.1 ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who chose The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro as their 1st choice and whose score is not below 150 in the 2022 UTME.
Candidates who did not choose The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro but are ready and able to effect change of Institution to make The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro their First Choice Institution.
(iii) Candidates are expected to complete the Screening Form online following the procedure in (1.4) below:
1.2 METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates seeking admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the Institution’s Form available online at: www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng with effect from Monday, 25th July 2023
1.3 PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE ONLINE SCREENING FORM
Candidates seeking admission for ND (Full Time) are expected to generate a Screening Form Invoice by filling in their details online on the Institution’s website: federalpolyilaro
Each candidate is expected to pay a sum of Two Thousand Naira only (N2, 000.00) as processing fee.
1.4 Instructions to Candidates
Log on to www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng
Click on "Portal " on the main menu
On the Portal Menu Bar, Click on "Applicant"
Select "Generate Invoice"
To generate your invoice fill in your Name and other details (as you have them on your credentials) and select your programme of study.
Proceed to the bank with the invoice generated.Pay at the bank and obtain RRR NUMBER
Return to the portal, repeat steps 1-3 above and click on "Fill Application form"
Enter the RRR NUMBER obtained from the Bank
Complete the application form.
Scan and upload the following :
UTME notification of result slip
O’level Result(s) for candidates who are not awaiting their result(s).
All awaiting result candidates should indicate their year of Examination and Registration Number and put (AR) in the columns provided for this purpose. They should however upload their results when available.
Confirm and submit. Print a copy of the Acknowledgement Slip
PART B
2.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES – 2022/2023 SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Full-Time Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification for programmes in the following schools:
2.1 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Departments: Library & Information Science, Mass Communication & Office Technology and Management (Secretarial Studies).
2.2 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING: Departments: Agric. & Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering with options in: (i) Electrical Power and Machines, (ii) Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, (iii) Instrumentation and Control. Mechanical Engineering with options in: (i) Plant and Power Engineering Technology, (ii) Manufacturing Engineering Technology, (iii) Automotive Engineering Technology.
2.3 SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES:Departments:Architectural Technology, Arts & Design with options in (i) Painting (ii) Sculpture (iii) Textile (iv) Ceramics, Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Urban and Regional Planning.
2.4 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:Departments:Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Insurance, Marketing, Public Administration and Taxation.
2.5 SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:Departments:Computer Science, Food Technology, Hospitality Management (Hotel and Catering Management), Nutrition and Dietetics, Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology with options in: (i) Chemistry (ii) Physics with Electronics (iii) Environmental Biology (iv) Microbiology (v) Biochemistry.
Duration of all programmes: 4 Semesters (Full Time) – 2 Academic Sessions
PART C
3.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) PROGRAMMES 2022/2023 SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Open Distance & Flexible E – Learning (ON–LINE) Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification for programmes in the following schools:
3.1 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Departments: Mass Communication.
3.2 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:
Departments: Accountancy, Business Administration and Management and Public Administration.
3.3 SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:
Departments: Computer Science.
Duration of all Programmes: 6 Semesters in 24 Calendar Months.
4.0 HND (FULL – TIME) AND HND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E – LEARNING (ODFEL) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants seeking HND Admission must possess:
4.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
National Diploma not below Lower Credit (with CGPA not less than 2.50) and basic requirements for the National Diploma Programme in the applicant’s discipline;
(ii) Possession of the specific SSC requirements i.e WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’level for the programme for which the candidate is applying.
(iii) Good performance in the screening exercise to be conducted by the Polytechnic.
(iv) Minimum of One Calendar year Post National Diploma relevant Industrial experience.
(v) Candidate’s National Diploma academic transcript should be sent by the ND awarding institution for Candidates who did not finish from The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro under confidential cover to: The Registrar, The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. ADMITTED CANDIDATES SHALL NOT BE REGISTERED BEFORE RECEIPT OF ND ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT
PART D
5.0 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PART-TIME PROGRAMMES 2022/2023 SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Open Distance and Flexible E – Learning (ON–LINE) Programme leading to the award of National Diploma (ND) qualification for programmes in the following schools:
6.1 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Departments: Mass Communication.
6.2 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:
Departments: Accountancy, Business Administration and Management and Public Administration.
6.3 SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:
Departments: Computer Science.
Duration of all Programmes: 6 Semesters in 24 Calendar Months.
7.0 ND (PART- TIME) AND ND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E – LEARNING (ODFEL) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
7.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of five (5) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) and three others obtained in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.
Candidates awaiting the results of just concluded examinations can apply but if admitted, they must tender such results before the deadline for the close of registration for new students of 2022/2023 Session
All ND PART TIME AND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E – LEARNING (ODFEL) APPLICANTS must visit the JAMB Office to apply and fill JAMB Part Time / Distance Learning Application Form.
8.0 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR HND FULL TIME, ND PART - TIME AND OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E – LEARNING PROGRAMMES
Entrance examination dates for All programmes (HND Full Time and ND Part-Time ) and Open Distance and Flexible E – Learning Programmes will be announced later on the institution’s website and via applicants personal email addresses.
9.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Candidates seeking admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the Institution’s Application Form available online at: http://federalpolyilaro.edu.ng/ with effect from Monday, 25th July 2022. Closing dates for the completion of application form is 26th August, 2022
10.0 GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL HND AND ND PART-TIME PROGRAMMES
All candidates are expected to consult the institution’s prospectus on the website or in hard copy to ascertain their qualifications for programmes for which they are applying. Candidates should not register for programmes for which they do not have the requirements. The admission to The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro is provisional; ANYTIME it is discovered that a candidate registered for a programme for which he/she is not qualified or a candidate is in violation of any of the procedures and rules thereof, the admission would be withdrawn.
PROCEDURES TO OBTAIN FORM
To obtain the admission form, visit the Institution’s website and click on the Portal
* On the portal, click on Applicant, and then click on Generate Invoice.
* Take the invoice to any of the designated Banks for payment
* Return to the portal, click on Applicant, then click fill application form and fill the form following On-screen instructions.
The invoice and RRR must be obtained in the name of the applicant; the invoice must be generated from the Portal. The Invoice contains the RRR to be processed. The institution shall not be liable for complications that may arise when RRR is generated and payment is processed without going through the Institutional Portal.

ALL CANDIDATES ARE TO PROVIDE A NEW RESULT CHECKER SCRATCH CARD FOR EACH OF O/LEVEL RESULT(S) USED FOR THE APPLICATION. THE RESULT CHECKER CARD(S) SHOULD BE SCRATCHED AND WRITE OUT THE PIN NUMBER AND THE SERIAL NO. OF THE CARD ON THE SPACE PROVIDED ONLINE.
SCREENING EXAMINATION WILL BE ON-LINE. ALL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO SUPPLY VALID PERSONAL PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAILS ADDRESES ON THEIR FORMS.
THE INVOICE AND RRR MUST BE OBTAINED IN THE NAME OF THE APPLICANT; THE INVOICE MUST BE GENERATED FROM THE PORTAL. THE INVOICE CONTAINS THE RRR TO BE PROCESSED. THE INSTITUTION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR COMPLICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE WHEN RRR IS GENERATED AND PAYMENT IS PROCESSED WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE PORTAL.
AWAITING RESULT CANDIDATES (ND FULL TIME) ARE ALLOWED TO SUBMIT THEIR CREDENTIALS WHENEVER THEY GET IT. ALSO, OBTAINING SCREENING FORM IS A CONTINUOUS EXERCISE.
