The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new procedure for generating the 10-digit profile code required for UTME/Direct Entry (DE) registration. This updated process is designed to simplify and enhance the registration experience for candidates.
How to Generate Your JAMB Profile Code
Candidates intending to register for the JAMB 2025 UTME or DE can now generate their 10-digit profile code directly from their smartphones. Here's what you need:
1. An Active SIM Card: Ensure the you SIM card you’re using is active and has not been barred.
2. Minimum of 50 Naira Airtime: This is necessary for sending the SMS request.
3. Your National Identification Number (NIN): This 11-digit number is mandatory for the process.
To generate your profile code:
- Open your phone's messaging app.
- Type NIN, followed by a space, and then your 11-digit NIN number (e.g., NIN 01234567890).
- Send the SMS to 55019 or 66019.
- You will receive a reply containing your unique 10-digit JAMB profile code and your full name.
- This code is essential for completing your registration process.
For Returning Candidates
If you’ve previously written JAMB, you can reuse the same profile code. If you’ve forgotten your profile code, it’s easy to retrieve:
1. Open your phone's messaging app.
2. Type RESEND, followed by a space, and then your JAMB registration number.
3. Send the SMS to 55019.
4. You will receive a response containing your profile code.
Important Notes
Double-check your NIN number before sending the message to avoid errors.
Ensure that your SIM card is properly registered and active to prevent issues with generating or retrieving the code.
This streamlined system is part of JAMB’s continuous effort to make the registration process smoother and more accessible for all candidates. Ensure you follow these
steps accurately to avoid delays in your registration.
